Could not agree more (and even if I didn't, it wouldn't make it less true)! Sophie Strand often tells the story of the spider and its web. When ever the spider web is broken or dismantled by outside forces, the spider begins acting discombobulated, neurotic, and mentally disconnected. Scientists have concluded that the web acts as a part of the spider's extended brain, a literal manifestation of its mental processes. The broader implications are that of all living systems being one interconnected brain, and whenever our collectivism, cooperation, and collaboration - our deep interconnection and intertwining - we (not just humanity, and not even just living systems) begin to act neurotic, discombobulated, and mentally broken. Does this sound familiar?
